Established by Robert “Bob” Weggel in 2022, this fund supports legacy projects with profound, long-term impact to the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail. Inspired by the magnificence of the Rocky Mountains, Bob wishes to leave a lasting legacy to protect and conserve the Continental Divide.
An avid hiker, backpacker, and conservationist, Bob earned his BS in physics from MIT, and completed graduate school at Harvard. Bob designed magnets for the National Magnet Laboratory at MIT, and is in The Guinness Book of World Records as co-designing a magnet with the most intense continuous magnetic field in the world.
CDTC wishes to deeply thank Bob for his generous contribution to the protection and stewardship of the Trail. Giving to the Robert J. Weggel CDT Legacy Fund supports Legacy projects and the long-term protection of the CDT.
