CDTC envisions a more equitable future for open lands: one in which all people are able to enjoy all the benefits of the Continental Divide landscape. Pride on the Divide recognizes that Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Intersex, Asexual, and other members of the Queer Community are an integral part of the past, present, and future of the CDT community. This initiative is intended to be a reflection of all people who actively engage in the stewardship and enjoyment of the CDT experience.

We want to hear from you! CDTC knows that the CDT holds a feeling of joy, transformation, connectedness, and community for many of the 2SLGBTQIA+ who travel the CDT tread, live in CDT communities, and steward the trail. We want to elevate and celebrate the stories and perspectives that illustrate why the CDT Experience can be enjoyed by all people.

If you have an idea for a Pride on the Divide event in your community, let us know! Events don’t have to be only during Pride months, they can happen any time of the year, and they don’t have to only take place outdoors on the CDT; community-based events are great, too. Reach out with your ideas and we can try to help provide guidance, resources, and promotion to help connect the 2SLGBTQIA+ CDT community in your area.

We want to hear from you!

CDTC knows that the CDT holds a feeling of joy, transformation, connectedness, and community for many of the 2SLGBTQIA+ who travel the CDT tread, live in CDT communities, and steward the trail. We want to elevate and celebrate these stories and perspectives, and share why the CDT Experience is one that can be enjoyed by all people.

And you can share challenges, too! The CDT is full of ups and downs (literally) and we recognize that sharing your success as well as challenges is reflective of a true CDT experience. Stories of the queer community in the outdoors have historically not been represented, which can make adventures like exploring the CDT more intimidating and less welcoming.

We hope we can help to overcome this potential barrier by sharing stories from 2SLGBTQIA+ people who have been on the ridgelines of the CDT, the main street of Gateway Communities, and all the places in between.
