For the Continental Divide Trail Coalition’s 2024 Community Stewardship event in Twin Lakes (a designated Gateway Community alongside Leadville), CDTC will be supporting the Friends of Twin Lakes and Friends of Lake County by helping with important maintenance at the Willis Gulch Trailhead, a key local access point to the CDT. Come join local volunteers to install tables and benches on the southside of the bridge, as well as replenish road base on approaches to the bridge.
This event will run for two days June 6th – 7th starting at 9am each day, so sign up online.

What to wear: Dress for the weather (current and future) and dress in layers! Please wear long pants/sleeves and closed toed shoes to protect yourself from the sun, dirt, and things that might make you itchy (mosquitos, etc.). Avoid cotton when you’re able and go with a synthetic material or wool. Also remember to wear sturdy hiking shoes, good socks, a cool sun hat, and sunscreen!
What to bring in your day pack: 2 Water bottles, snacks, sunscreen, extra layers (long sleeve shirt, fleece) and also bring your waterproof jacket–weather changes quickly, make sure to come for cooler/wet weather.
